Why NSN Is Supporting Tulsa Girls' Home

NSN has been Tulsa-owned since 2012. Over those years we've been blessed with great customers and great employees, and we've been thinking about how to give back to the community we live in. Today I'm glad to share that NSN has decided to become a supporter of Tulsa Girls' Home.

About Tulsa Girls' Home

Tulsa Girls' Home (TGH) is a nonprofit that exists, in their words, "to shelter, empower, restore and support teen girls who have been placed in foster care." They provide a safe, structured, 24/7 therapeutic residential home for girls ages 14–18 who are in Oklahoma DHS foster care — girls who have often experienced trauma, instability, and disrupted placements.

Their work includes trauma-informed residential care, individual and family therapy support, education and academic support in partnership with local schools, and life skills preparation like budgeting, time management, communication, and decision-making. The goal is to help each girl rebuild trust, heal, and work toward a healthy, independent future. TGH describes itself as working in partnership with the Department of Human Services, local ministries, donors, volunteers, and businesses.

Why this matters to me

I've always had a heart for kids and teens who have been abandoned, mistreated, or simply have nowhere to go. I know there are people already doing this work, every day, right here in our community. When Tulsa Girls' Home came up on my Facebook feed recently, I felt it was time to stop thinking about it and start acting on it.

A starting point

Supporting TGH isn't about us. It's about the girls they serve and the people who show up for them around the clock. We simply want to stand alongside them, and this is a great way for NSN to start giving back to the city that has given so much to us.

If their story moves you the way it moved me, there are simple ways to help: shop their Amazon wish list, sponsor a birthday for one of the girls, or give one-time or monthly. You can learn more and find all the ways to support their work at tulsagirlshome.org/donate.
